I bought a set of Gotoh tuners (sealed, schaller style) form StewMac a few months ago - started putting them on a guitar last night and noticed that one of the posts is very loose and wobbly, but it does turn when you turn the knob. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this. I,m sure StuMac will replace, but I thought I would ask here first in case there is an easy fix someone knows of. Thanks, Paul Harrell |

How loose is the screw that holds the button on - this affects the turning action of the tuner and post. I have used a lot of Gotoh sets before, and never have seen this - Gotoh posts are usually rock solid - no wobble whatsoever. |

Tony - Even with the button screw very tight the post has a lot of wobble. I agree, I have never had any problems with Gotoh tuners before, Grover on the other hand, well don't get me started...... Paul |

Is it the post only or can you tell if the bushing is moving as well. I doubt it is but I would check to be sure. I have had a busing part just below the nut and had a simalar issue. but the bore was oversized a bit and the combo of the broken bushing and oversized bore made it look like the post was loose . the nut was stuck in place in the finish a bit so it looked like the bushing was ok till disassemblied |

Well if its still loose then send it back - dont bother keeping this one. It will come back to haunt you - for the 30-40 bucks for a new set ditch these. |
